Desert Trekking Guide Camp
Desert Trekking Guide Camp is located inside the Protected Area in the heart of Wadi Rum. The camp is about 15 km away from the Visitor Centre and 10 km from Wadi Rum village. You can watch the beautiful sunset from the sand dunes and rocks right next to camp.

We offer a variety of different tent sizes, including singles, doubles, triples, quadruple tents, family tents, large group tents and even shared tents, so you are sure to find the accommodation that is right for you. All tents have comfortable beds and we provide pillows, blankets, sheets and towels. If you want to sleep outside on the nearby sand dune, we can offer you the blankets and the mattress at no extra charge.

The price for overnight in our camp including dinner, breakfast, tea and water is 25JD per person.

During the colder months, you can sit around a warm fire in the communal tent, where you will listen to Bedouin music, songs, and old stories passed down throughout the generations. In the summer months, the campfire is located outside, so you can enjoy the entertainment and watch the stars at the same time. Bedouin tea will always be available, since this is Bedouin hospitality. In our camp you will enjoy a traditional Bedouin dinner, which is cooked in an underground oven.

All the tents have electric lights and we also have a charging station for your mobiles and cameras. We have also European-style toilets and showers.

About the food:
We prepare the traditional Bedouin dinner by cooking it in the ‘zarb’, which is an underground oven covered with sand. The long cooking process produces delicious and incredible flavors. In addition to the main dish, we have rice, salad, yoghurt, bread, soup and we also offer vegetarian dishes.

Eat and drink:
At the entrance to the park, a small tent/restaurant serves a simple Jordanian fare of bread, yogurt and such.

Breakfast: Zattar (Bread dipped in mix of olive oil and thyme.) We also serve jams, eggs and cheese, yoghurt etc. Breakfast is light by design so that you can quickly be on your way, whether that means a tour with us, or heading back to the village to continue your travels.

Lunch: Bread, hummus, salad, tuna, fooul, eggs, and various hot dishes (e.g. eggs with tomatoes). Every lunch is a little bit different.

Dinner: Dinner is one of everybody’s favorite parts of the trip. It typically consists of the Zarb, a traditional Bedouin meal cooked under the ground. Sometimes we change it up by offering a delicious ‘Bedouin Barbecue’ cooked over an open fire. Side dishes include salads, soup, rice, vegetables, bread, and fruit.

You won’t be able to avoid the Bedouin tea, which is served in every tent you will visit. It’s hot, sweet and usually flavoured with mint and/or sage. Truly an experience not to be missed.

We also provide complimentary bottled water.

And at night we have a cool fire place area where you can sit and listen to stories, Bedouin music, and dance under the stars of Wadi Rum.
